Our volunteers launched the Atlantic 85 on service following a report to UK Coastguard of a kite surfer in difficulties off Rest Bay. Our colleagues from Porthcawl Coastguard were also tasked to the incident and monitored the situation from the land. The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was on scene within minutes of launching to find the casualty was tangled in his kite lines and drifting in the direction of Hutchwns Point. The casualty was brought on board the lifeboat along with his equipment and the crew were able to untangle him from his lines which were wrapped around his foot. He was brought back to the lifeboat station and checked over but no further medical assistance was required. He was taken back to his vehicle at Rest Bay by the Coastguard Team.
