Our volunteers launched our D Class lifeboat on service following reports of a person in the water at Sandy Bay. The casualty was rescued from the water by the crew. Porthcawl Coastguard and Police secured a landing site for the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter which transferred the casualty to hospital. This was a multi agency incident also attended by a Welsh Ambulance service paramedic.
