The D Class lifeboat was launched following reports of windsurfers in difficulty in Newton Bay. Once on scene the crew found one windsurfer had made it ashore whilst a second needed further assistance as his mast had snapped.

The crew brought the windsurfer onboard along with his equipment and transferred him back to the beach at Newton where we were met by Porthcawl Coastguard team members.
