Our volunteers were paged by UK Coastguard to conduct a search after a report of a person in the water at Newton Point. Following a search along with Porthcawl Coastguard Team, the Coastguard Helicopter and Police the call was deemed to be a false alarm and all search units were stood down. Our lifeboats returned to the lifeboat station.
