Porthcawl’s volunteer crew were paged by UK Coastguard to assist with a multi-agency search in the Rest Bay, Porthcawl area. The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Rose of the Shires was launched on service. Around 2 hours after launching the crew were stood down by the Coastguard, returning to station at 2.34pm when the lifeboat was washed down, refuelled and rehoused.
