Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard as the final whistle sounded on the Wales vs Fiji rugby world cup game.
The crew were tasked to assist with a multi agency search which was taking place in the Merthyr Mawr and Ogmore By Sea area. The crew conducted a shoreline search of the area being stood down from the incident around 12.45am the following morning.
