Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard and tasked to conduct a search following a report of a missing 4 year old at Sandy Bay (Coney Beach).
Thankfully the child was found as the charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launching. Having been stood down from the incident the crew were able to enjoy The Hi Tide Inn’s weekly summer firework display from the water before the lifeboat was rehoused and made ready for service.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
