Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard following a report from Porthcawl NCI that 5 people were cut off by the tide at Dunraven Bay, Southerndown.
The charity’s D Class lifeboat Hugo Missen was launched on service to investigate. Porthcawl RNLI volunteer helm, Nevs @marathonlifeboatman diverted from his London marathon training run arriving at the station to helm the lifeboat 🏃‍♂️
Once on scene a crew member went ashore and it was established the group that were cut off were well equipped, aware of the tide times and happy to wait until the tide receded. The lifeboat crew were then stood down from the incident and returned to station.
