All volunteers at Porthcawl RNLI lifeboat station were saddened to hear that John Williams MBE had sadly died earlier this week. John was an original crew member when the RNLI re-established a lifeboat at Porthcawl in 1965. He went on to serve the station as Honorary Secretary, now known as Lifeboat Operations Manager, from 1986

Marj Abraham is a stalwart when it comes to raising money for the RNLI. This year she has raised over £2,000 by selling raffle tickets for her, now well known, hand made patchwork quilts. For seventeen years Marj and her friends spend the winter months armed with a needle and thread busily making patchwork quilts.
