Andrew Walmsley has recently taken up the volunteer position of Lifeboat Operations Manager at Porthcawl RNLI.
Andrew works as an electrical technician and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role having been sea going crew at Porthcawl RNLI since 1995 with much of that time as a helm. He recently stood down as sea going crew in order to take up his new management position.
Both Andrew’s son Ieuan and daughter Ffion have volunteered as crew alongside Andrew with Ffion leaving the crew recently to go to university.
Andrew said, ‘I am delighted to take up this new role and I plan to continue with the same high standards as Phil Missen has whilst he was in post.’
