UK Coastguard tasked Porthcawl RNLI's volunteer crew following a report they'd received from Porthcawl NCI that a paddleboarder may be in need of assistance off Dunraven Bay. The charity's D Class lifeboat Hugo Missen was launched on service. When the crew arrived on scene the paddleboarder had made it close into shore and required no assistance.

Porthcawl RNLI's volunteer crew launched on their training exercise aboard D Class Hugo Missen and were immediately flagged down by a swimmer in Sandy Bay. The swimmer requested assistance and was taken aboard the lifeboat and dropped back to the slipway at the harbour.
