UK Coastguard tasked our volunteer crew following concerns for a swimmer near Rhych Point. The swimmer was taken onboard the D Class lifeboat and returned to the beach at Sandy Bay.

The swimmer had made it to shore requiring no further assistance shortly before the D Class lifeboat arrived on scene. The lifeboat returned to station where it was made ready for service.

UK Coastguard requested the launch of both the Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats to assist with a multiagency search in the Porthcawl area. All was satisfactorily resolved after around 45 minutes of searching and the lifeboats were rehoused and made ready for service.
