Our crew were paged by UK Coastguard following a Mayday Call broadcast on channel 16. Both our inshore lifeboats were launched on service and conducted a search of the area between Sker Point and Witches Point. Our Atlantic 85 lifeboat (which was in the process of launching on training exercise) received an immediate tasking from UK Coastguard to assist a windsurfer in difficulty off Newton beach. The windsurfer was taken onboard the lifeboat and dropped back to the beach at Newton along with his equipment.
Our Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched to assist a boat which was suffering engine difficulties. The boat was taken in tow towards Swansea. The tow was passed to The Mumbles Lifeboat RNLI who took the boat to Swansea Marina.

Our D Class lifeboat was launched in the early hours to a report of a person in the water at Trecco Bay. Upon arrival on scene information was received that South Wales Police had located the casualty on land. As no further assistance was needed ourselves and Porthcawl Coastguard were stood down.
