UK Coastguard requested the launch of our lifeboats to recover a person from the water off Porthcawl seafront. Casualty care was administered by the crew onboard the lifeboat and then passed onto the ambulance service who transferred the casualty to hospital. No further information available at this time.

Our volunteers launched our lifeboats following a report of persons cut off by the tide between Witches Point and Monknash. A search of the area was carried out and a group were located. The group were happy to remain as they were having a fire on the beach and in no immediate danger. They were able to leave

UK Coastguard requested the launch of our lifeboats after receiving multiple 999 calls regarding two boys cut off by the incoming tide on a rocky outcrop at Newton Point. Waves were starting to break over the rock and the boys predicament was time critical as there was still two hours to go until high tide.

UK Coastguard requested the launch of Porthcawl Lifeboat following a report from National Coastwatch Institution - Porthcawl of multiple fenders floating off Porthcawl. Both lifeboats were launched to a Mayday call. A child had been swept out to sea at Ogmore River and there were reports that three adults had gone in after the child. Our volunteers were paged by UK Coastguard following a report of a missing child at Dunraven Bay. The child had been missing for over an hour and was last seen in the water. Luckily the child was found safe and well shortly after we launched and we were stood down.

A small fishing boat made a call to both Porthcawl NCI and Porthcawl Marina reporting engine problems. The boat was unable to start it's engine and was over tusker rock on an outgoing tide. The D Class lifeboat was launched following reports of windsurfers in difficulty in Newton Bay. Once on scene the crew found one windsurfer had made it ashore whilst a second needed further assistance as his mast had snapped. The crew brought the windsurfer onboard along with his equipment and transferred him back to the beach
