Our volunteers launched our Atlantic 85 lifeboat to an experienced kite surfer in Newton Bay. She had equipment issues when the wind dropped and it wasn't strong enough for the size of kite she was using. The kite surfer packed down her equipment and was brought on-board the lifeboat and taken in to Trecco Bay

Both the Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats were launched at the request of UK Coastguard following a report of 2 vulnerable teenage girls in the water at Sandy Bay (Coney Beach). Both the Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats launched to two persons cut off by the tide near Witches Point in an area known as Temple Bay. They had attempted to climb up the cliff face. Upon arrival of our lifeboats the casualties made their way back down to the bottom of the cliff. A

Our volunteers launched the Atlantic 85 lifeboat in high winds and rough seas following a report 2 windsurfers were in difficulty in Newton Bay. The lifeboat arrived on scene to find one windsurfer had made it ashore onto the beach whilst the other was in shallow water and in the process of taking his equipment

UK Coastguard requested the launch of our Atlantic 85 lifeboat to assist a yacht which had suffered engine failure and was being hampered by bad weather, with wind speed gusting to Force 6 approximately 8NM South West of Porthcawl. The yacht was in close proximity to Scarweather sand bank and at risk of running aground.

Our Atlantic 85 was launched to a multi agency incident involving a despondent male. Our volunteer crew members were out for a total of nearly 6 hours (which included 2 crew changes) and were stood down when the male was safely in the care of Police units.

Atlantic 85 and D Class lifeboats were launched on service following a report of 2 people in separate dinghy's drifting out to sea from Newton beach. The Atlantic 85 was first on scene and located 2 persons on kayaks between Newton and Ogmore By Sea. Contact was made with the first informant via UK Coastguard.
