The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched to assist a vessel which had suffered electrical problems and broken down off Sandy Bay. The boat was taken under tow and taken into Porthcawl Marina.

Both lifeboats were launched to assist South Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service and Llantwit Major Coastguard at an incident in the Southerndown area. Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 187 was also on scene. The lifeboat returned to station just under an hour later and made ready for service.

The lifeboats conducted a thorough search of the area. Atlantic 85 launched on service in order to standby due to concerns for a despondent person. The person was safely taken into the care of South Wales Police officers shortly after launching and we were stood down.
Both lifeboats were launched on service at the request of UK Coastguard to extract a casualty from Kenfig Sands (Sker Beach) who had fallen from a horse.
