Our volunteers launched our Atlantic 85 on service this evening to assist a vessel with engine difficulties between Newton and Ogmore. The vessel was taken under tow and taken into Porthcawl marina. The D Class also launched to assist with manoeuvring the vessel through the narrow marina entrance and back onto the vessels mooring.
Both lifeboats were tasked to assist Llantwit Major Coastguard with the medical evacuation of a female with a leg injury at Monknash. Our Atlantic 85 was launched on service to a surfer in difficulties at Rest Bay. The surfer had been swept from the main bay by a rip current and was being assisted by an RNLI lifeguard. The Atlantic 85 picked both the casualty and the lifeguard up off Box Bay.
