Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard whilst out on a training exercise to investigate 2 people cut off by the tide at Dunraven Bay. The charity’s Atlantic 85 Rose of the Shires arrived on scene and located the casualties around 10 metres up the cliff face.

A crew member went ashore to speak to the casualties. The casualties were both climbers and opted to stay where they were and wait for the tide to recede.

The Lifeboat continued with there exercise keeping a visual on the casualties until they were able to exit the Bay. The Lifeboat then returned to station.
