HM Coastguard paged Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew to investigate a kayaker who was struggling against the incoming tide at Newton Point. The Coastguard were alerted by our RNLI Lifeguards South East Wales colleagues who had concerns that the kayaker was making no progress against the tidal current.
Once the crew arrived on scene the kayaker was taken onboard the lifeboat and dropped back to Sandy Bay (Coney Beach).
