UK Coastguard tasked our volunteer crew to assist a boat which had suffered engine difficulties off the seafront at Porthcawl and was being swept towards rocks by the wind and tide.
Both the charity’s D Class Super G II and Atlantic 85 Irene Cornford were launched to assist.
The D Class lifeboat towed the boat clear of the rocks and the tow was then passed to the Atlantic 85 lifeboat which towed the boat back to the slipway at Porthcawl harbour.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
The health crisis has hit our income hard. Lockdown halted the fundraising events we rely on to power our lifesaving service. Support our volunteer crew by donating to: Porthcawl RNLI Lifesavers’ Fund 2021.
