Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked whilst afloat on a training exercise by UK Coastguard following a 999 call reporting that a person may be cut off by the tide at Sker Point.

The Atlantic 85 diverted from its exercise whilst the D Class was also launched. Once the Atlantic 85 arrived on scene it was established the person was a fisherman and required no assistance. The lifeboats were stood down and the D Class returned to station whilst the Atlantic 85 continued with its exercise.
