Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were paged by HM Coastguard following a report of two kayakers in difficulty at Ogmore river mouth. Porthcawl’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires was launched on service making best speed to Ogmore By Sea.
The crew arrived on scene to find a team of volunteer lifeguards from Penybont Surf Life Saving Club had managed to assist both kayakers to safety shortly before they had arrived on scene. Great teamwork by the volunteers from Penybont SLSC.
