Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked by HM Coastguard during their training exercise following a report that a kayaker was in difficulty off Ogmore.
The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires made best speed to the location. Once on scene the crew were able to establish the kayaker was safely ashore and required no further assistance. The crew were stood down from the incident and continued with their training exercise.
In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
