HM Coastguard tasked Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew following a report 2 people with 4 dogs were cut off by the tide near Nash Point.
The charity’s D Class lifeboat D861 Hugo Missen was launched on service and made best speed to the location. Once on scene it was established that recovery by lifeboat would be high risk due to the swell conditions. The Coastguard teams from Llantwit Major and Barry set up for rope recovery and all casualties were recovered up the cliff face.
