Tasked by UK Coastguard to rescue a Jack Russell named Lily. Lily had been missing for over 3 hours from the Nottage area of Porthcawl before she was spotted by National Coastwatch Institution – Porthcawl stranded on rocks by the green pole near the entrance of Porthcawl marina. With the tide coming in the rocks would be completely submerged at high water.

The D Class lifeboat was launched with three crew onboard and despite Lily initially resisting the assistance of our crew they were eventually able to secure a rope to her and guide her onto the D Class lifeboat. Her owner, who was out searching for her, was alerted to Lily’s predicament by one of his friends who saw the incident unfold and we were able to reunite her with him back on the slipway.
