Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew were tasked shortly after they had launched on exercise by HM Coastguard following a report that 2 paddleboarders may require assistance off Rest Bay.

The charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat Rose of the Shires made best speed to the location. Once on scene the paddleboarders were located but found to not be in difficulty. The lifeboat was stood down and continued with its training exercise.

In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
