UK Coastguard paged Porthcawl RNLI’s volunteer crew following a report of two paddleboarders in difficulty off Ogmore By Sea.

With our crew at the station preparing to launch on a training exercise the charity’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Rose of the Shires was launched on service within minutes.
When the crew arrived on scene they found the two paddleboarders had been helped to safety by a member of the public. The crew checked the paddleboarders were okay before being stood down from the incident by the Coastguard.
If you are planning to go afloat paddleboarding please read the RNLI’s safety guide first: https://rnli.org/…/choose-your…/stand-up-paddle-boarding
In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
