UK Coastguard tasked our volunteer crew to assist a sailing yacht with engine difficulties off Porthcawl breakwater. Before the lifeboat was launched the yacht got pinned against the breakwater but was swept clear by the wind and tide. The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched on service and once the lifeboat was alongside the yacht two of our volunteer crew were transferred onto it to assist the skipper with taking down his sails. It was then taken in tow into Porthcawl Marina.
