The Atlantic 85 lifeboat was launched in strong wind and rough seas following a report a windsurfer was in difficulty off Newton Point. The lifeboat made best speed in the conditions conducting a search of the area. No windsurfer was found to be in difficulty and it was confirmed the windsurfer had made it safely back to shore. The lifeboat was stood down and returned to station.
