UK Coastguard requested the launch of our Atlantic 85 following a report of a kite surfer in difficulty at Trecco Bay. The Porthcawl Coastguard team attended the incident and were unable to locate the kite surfer. Our volunteers were requested to conduct a search of the area in order to locate the kite surfer. Following a short search further information confirmed the kite surfer had come ashore at Trecco Bay before the Coastguard team arrived and the lifeboat was stood down.
