UK Coastguard requested the launch of our Atlantic 85 on service to 16 people cut off by the tide on the Porthcawl side of the Ogmore River. The D Class had spoken to them whilst enroute to a casualty with an injured ankle and requested the Atlantic 85 was launched as there was a concern they may attempt to cross the river and put themselves at risk of being swept out to sea. All 16 people were taken onboard the lifeboat and transferred to the slipway at Ogmore By Sea. Porthcawl Coastguard also attended and assisted with the incident from the Porthcawl side of the river.
