Our Atlantic 85 was launched on service to two girls in an inflatable dinghy off Newton Point.

Having originally entered the water on Sandy Bay (Coney Beach) they found themselves blown out to sea and off Newton Point, struggling to get back to shore. A concerned member of the public contacted UK Coastguard to report the girls predicament.

Both girls were brought onboard the lifeboat and taken back to Coney Beach where the lifeboat was met on the beach by Porthcawl Coastguard.

In a coastal emergency dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
